How strong is demand for low-maintenance ranch homes that are close to golf and recreation? “It’s growing dramatically,” says Kathy Ellis, Century Communities’ VP of Sales and Marketing. Last weekend Century released a few ranch home-and-site packages for its Saddle Rock Golf Homes, some backing to the golf course, in south Aurora; and two disappeared to buyers before Sunday night.
Saddle Rock Golf Homes are not 55-and-older restricted, but they’re overwhelmingly attracting Baby Boomer and older buyers, some of them moving to Denver to be closer to Colorado grandkids. “People love what they see here,” adds Ellis, pointing to Century’s attractive single-level attached ranch designs close to Saddle Rock’s clubhouse. “They’re looking for a new home where they’re not going to be mowing grass or shoveling snow, and where they can lock it up and leave when it’s time to head to their place in Phoenix, or on trips with friends.”
Century Communities still has an ‘Antilles’ ranch left from that new release, offering three bedrooms and three baths -- around 2,239 square feet including attractive finished-basement space that comes standard with Saddle Rock Golf Homes. It’s on a site backing to the course, comes with a 2- bay attached garage, and is set to deliver in early summer – currently priced at $337,000. Century also released a second building with three ranches backing to a greenbelt from as low as the $310s. In addition, there are three homes ready right now – ones that you can tour this weekend, from $316,950.
One of those is Century’s super-sized ‘Cayman’ ranch – 2,813 square feet including the standard finished basement, currently priced at $364,450. It’s appointed with hardwood floors, great room fireplace, a study, and a wide-open kitchen-dining-entertaining area with vaulted ceilings. Century includes slab granite counters, appliances, a luxury master suite with walk-in closet, and much more.
Ellis notes that even residents who don’t play golf like being on Saddle Rock’s popular-but-affordably-priced course (weekday rates start from $45). “They enjoy the use of two Saddle Rock pools, or they go over to the club’s grill for breakfast or lunch,” he adds. “And they appreciate being close to Southlands Shopping Center and to Aurora Reservoir.” Saddle Rock Golf Homes, just off E470 at the Gartrell exit, offers a quick commute either into the Denver Tech Center, or north to DIA.
Saddle Rock Golf Homes are at 22009 East Calhoun Place, Aurora, open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 11-5, Monday noon-5. From 470, take S. Gartrell north a mile to E. Arapahoe Road and turn west a half mile to S. Rome Court. Prices, plans, and terms are effective on the date of publication and subject to change without notice. Colorado’s own Century Communities offers other single-family homes, townhomes, condos and lofts at prices from the $100,000s to $600,000s.
